In her exhibition, Chiharu Shiota returns to one of her favourite themes: clothing. The central work entitled “The Extended Line”, designed especially for the event, is the star of the exhibition. Thousands of suspended origami creations form a complex network evoking individual and collective memories. We let ourselves be carried away by this sea of floating paper which pushes us to reflect on our own journey and the memories that define us.
The strength of this exhibition lies in Shiota's ability to play with light. Red dominates the ground floor, while the black threads of the basement contrast with the bright white of the room, allowing the light to reveal unsuspected patterns and details, adding an extra dimension to the whole.
