This free retrospective highlights the artistic evolution and social commitment of Ken Domon, Japanese master of photorealism. Through a careful selection of emblematic photos, the exhibition traces a chronological journey. The rooms present poignant black and white photographs, highlighted by a refined scenography punctuated with touches of colour to highlight the contrasts of Domon's duotones.
Over the course of his career, the artist has gradually moved towards a more instantaneous and everyday approach to photography. In addition to the aesthetic quality of the photos, the exhibition is distinguished by the diversity of the themes covered. From portraits of personalities to snapshots of daily life, Domon explores the human condition in all its complexity, adding landscape photographs taken with the same virtuosity.
