The Musée Carnavalet presents the exhibition ‘Paris 1793-1794: A Revolutionary Year’, a fascinating plunge into a pivotal period of the French Revolution, marked by the Terror. The exhibition brings to life the social, political and cultural upheavals that transformed the capital.
Over 250 works of art, including paintings, sculptures, posters and historical documents, illustrate the daily life of Parisians under the revolutionary regime. The exhibition tackles major themes such as the execution of Louis XVI, the political trials and the establishment of the Comité de salut public. At the same time, it explores the tensions between revolutionary aspirations and the difficulties of living in a city in crisis.
This exhibition is ideal for history buffs and anyone who wants to immerse themselves in the intensity of 1793-1794, a period that shaped the history of France.
